Greetings, fellow coffee-lovers. This tutorial will teach you how to clean a 1Zpresso External adjustment grinder.
How often do you clean your 1Zpresso manual coffee grinder? Proper maintenance could prolong the life of your grinder for a long period of time. We advise customers to dismantle the grinder once a month to perform cleaning and maintenance. The grinder can be dismantled without any tools.
Here is a reassembly tutorial for the external adjustment mechanism of X-Pro S, X-Ultra, J-Max S, K-Pro, K-Plus, K-Max, ZP6 Special, and K-Ultra grinders. You can also find cleaning and maintenance tutorials for the internal adjustment and top adjustment on our blog. The image below demonstrates the re-assembly process with the K-Plus and J-Max S grinder.

Step 6
Put the wooden ball into the crank handle till you hear a click sound and tighten the pc lid by turn clockwise.
Turn the outer ring burr counter-clockwise to secure.
Step 6.1
Followed by step 5.1 – Apply a 6mm hex key/Allen key to install the pc lid by turning clockwise till it tightens.
Step 7
Place the pieces in order to ensure the grinder works perfectly. The central shaft and the burr set fixed together, you need to put it back into the grinder. Before that, you have to place the spring then the bearing cap on the burr set.
Note: the spring is the conical shape in which you need to place the larger surface upward as the opposite of the smaller surface and the protruding side of the bearing cap consider facing upward.
Step 8
Insert the upper bearing into the adjustment dial ring. Now it is a tricky part, you would notice there is a horseshoe shape appearing from the upper bearing cap. The flat side from the upper bearing cap needs to match the flat side of the central shaft as well.
Step 9
Pressing the burr set and tighten the knurled thumb nut by turning clockwise till you feel a resistance (do not overtighten or it hurt the burr set).
