Clean Tutorial for 1Zpresso Top Adjustment Grinder
This tutorial is for the
JX-Pro S
JE-Plus grinder
Greetings, fellow coffer-lovers. This tutorial allows you to learn how to clean a 1Zpresso top adjustment grinder
How often do you clean your 1Zpresso manual coffee grinder? Proper maintenance could prolong the lifetime of your grinder. We advise customers to dismantle the grinder once a month for cleaning and maintenance. The grinder could be dismantled without any tool.
Here is a reassembly tutorial for the top adjustment mechanism of the JX-Pro S & the JE-Plus grinder. You also can find a cleaning and maintenance tutorial of the internal adjustment and external adjustment from our blog. Images below demonstrate the reassembly of the JX-Pro grinder.

Disassembly of Top Adjustment Grinder
Step 1
Take off the crank handle, remove the adjustment dial by turning it counter-clockwise while holding the grinder and remove the catch-cup.
Step 2
Loosen the knurled thumb nut by turning counter-clockwise while pressing the burr from the bottom.
Step 3
Remove the burr set by pressing down the central shaft. Take out the sliding column from the upper ring cap where the upper bearing and the upper bearing cap lying.
Step 4
The upper ring cap can be disassembled by turning clockwise. Attach the catch-cup to remove the outer burr ring by turning clockwise. Note: Do not remove the outer burr ring without taking out the burr set.
Step 4.1
The magnetic catch-cup of JE-Plus grinder could be dismantled in three parts. Remove the magnetic attachment ring by turning counter-clockwise. Turn counter-clockwise to separate the closed receiver from the open receiver.
Perform the step reversely to recover the catch-up.
Step 5
Loosen the PC lid by turning it counter-clockwise for a thorough cleaning. Detach the wooden knob with some force.
Clean the grinder with a brush & air blower and be sure not to wash it with water.
Step 5.1
There is another design of the crank handle. It needs a 6mm hex key/Allen key to remove the pc lid by turning counter-clockwise.

Step 6
Attach the wooden knob to the crank handle and you will hear a click sound. Tighten the PC lid by turning it clockwise.
Make sure to completely tighten the outer burr ring and the upper ring cap counter-clockwise.
Step 6.1
Followed by step 5.1 – Apply a 6mm hex key/Allen key to install the pc lid by turning clockwise till it tightens.
Step 7
Put the parts back in order to ensure the grinder works properly. Before attaching the burr set to the body, you have to put the spring then the bearing cap back on the burr set.
Note: The wide side of the conical-shaped spring and the side of the bearing cap with a raised edge should face upward.
Step 8
There is a dot at the back of the sliding column. Place the sliding column (which connects the dot at the sliding column with the dot at the adjustment dial) inside the hopper.
Put the sliding column into the upper ring cap, then the upper bearing.
Now it is a tricky part, you might notice that the upper bearing cap is horseshoe shape. The flat side of the upper bearing cap needs to match the flat side of the central shaft.
Step 9
Tighten the knurled thumb nut by turning it clockwise while pressing the burr set.
Free your hand from pressing the burr set, tighten the adjustment dial by turning clockwise till you feel resistance (do not overtighten or it hurts the burr set).
Where the crank handle is unable to move dramatically is the zero point of the grinder.
