Turn the adjustment nut/adjustment dial clockwise to make the grinds finer and vice versa.
Turn the adjustment dial clockwise to the tightest. The number (#) marked at the dot is the starting point/zero point. NOTE: the number (#) might not be 0; however, it is attainable if you like to calibrate to the #0. Check out here or the tutorial below.
Turn the adjustment dial counter-clockwise from the zero point to the grind setting you like.
There are 10 numbers/40 clicks in a single rotation; every rotation moves the burr by 0.5mm.
Grinds remaining in the grinder might make the zero points different.
Kindly refer to the grind setting tutorial post for several brewing methods.
Coffee Grinding
Remove the handle and put coffee beans into the hopper. The maximum capacity is around 30~35g.
Grind coffee beans clockwise with the handle attached.
Diassembly
Loosen the adjustment dial counter-clockwise to remove it.
Remove the adjustment dial. Loosen the knurled thumb nut counter-clockwise while pushing the burr from the bottom. Take out the top bearing cover, the top bearing and the sliding column/screw column.
Take out the shaft, burr, lower bearing cover および spring.
Turn the burr ring unit and the upper ring cap clockwise to remove them from the grinder.
Clean each of the parts with a brush and an air blower.
Reassembly
Turn the burr ring unit and the upper ring cap counter-clockwise to the tightest position. Be sure to do not overtighten and stop when you feel resistance.
Put the components back in the right sequence: lower bearing cap (the raised edge side facing upward), spring, shaft および burr.
Align the dot on the sliding column to the dot on the upper ring cap and turn it over to put it into the upper ring cap.
Put the components back in the right sequence while pressing the burr: sliding column, upper bearing, upper bearing cap (the concave edge of the cap facing upward).
Turn the knurled thumb nut clockwise while pushing the burr.
Free your hand from pressing the burr, tighten the adjustment dial clockwise and stop when you feel resistance.
Warning
Do not attempt to disassemble or remove the following components any further:
You would need to either loosing or tightening the knurled thumb nut or the adjustment dial to calibrate the grinder.
We define the zero point as where the handle starts to spin with resistance instead of the tightest position. Please do not overtighten the dial to prevent it from getting stuck.
The numbers on the dial are designed to count how many steps you’ve turned and therefore the zero point is not necessary to be at #0.
It is common for the starting point of the adjustment dial to be around two or more clicks away due to the strength of tightening the knurled thumb nut.
If you would like to set the zero point to #0
Tightened the adjustment dial until the resistance starts (instead of the tightest) and see what number the indicator points to.
When the dot points to #1 instead of #0, please simply remove the adjustment dial (by twisting it counterclockwise). Adjust the knurled thumb nut counter-clockwise with 1 click.
Screw back the adjustment dial and the starting point should be at #0 (±2 clicks).
It is the same as step 2, simply remove the adjustment dial (by twisting it counterclockwise). Except for the dot points now is at #2, so you need to adjust the knurled thumb nut counter-clockwise with 2 clicks.
Screw back the adjustment dial and the starting point should be at #0 (±2 clicks).
