Greetings, fellow coffer-lovers.
How often that you clean your 1Zpresso manual coffee grinder?
Proper maintenance could prolong the life of your grinder for a long period of time.
We advise customers to dismantle the grinder once a month to perform cleaning and maintenance.
The grinder could dismantle without any helps from the tool.
Here is a reassemble tutorial for the top adjustment mechanism of K-Pro & K-Plus grinder.
You also can find the cleaning and maintenance tutorial of the internal adjustment and top adjustment from our blog.
Below image demonstrating the re-assembly with K-Plus grinder.
Remove the crank handle and the catch-cup.
Pressing the burr set and loosen the knurled thumb nut by turning counter-clockwise.
Take out the burr set by pressing down the central shaft. Collect the upper ring cap and the upper bearing which inside of the adjustment dial ring.
The adjustment dial ring and the outer burr ring can be taken out by turning clockwise. (For K-Pro grinder user: Attaching the catch-cup to remove the outer burr ring by turning clockwise.)
Note: the outer burr ring unable to remove without taking out the burr set.
The magnetic catch-cup of K-Plus grinder could be dismantled in three parts. Remove the magnetic attachment ring by turning counter-clockwise. Turn counter-clockwise to separate the closed receiver from the open receiver.
Perform the step reversely to recover the catch-up.
Take out the pc lid by turn counter-clockwise throughout cleaning. Apply some strength to detach the wooden ball.
Clean it with the brush & air blower and be sure do not to apply water to wash it.
Put the wooden ball into the crank handle till you hear a click sound and tighten the pc lid by turn clockwise.
Turn the outer ring burr and the adjustment dial ring counter-clockwise to secure.
Place the pieces in order to ensure the grinder works perfectly. The central shaft and the burr set fixed together, you need to put it back into the grinder. Before that, you have to place the spring then the bearing cap on the burr set.
Note: the spring is the conical shape in which you need to place the larger surface upward as the opposite of the smaller surface and the protruding side of the bearing cap consider facing upward.
Insert the upper bearing into the adjustment dial ring. Now it is a tricky part, you would notice there is a horseshoe shape appearing from the upper bearing cap. The flat side from the upper bearing cap needs to match the flat side of the central shaft as well.
Pressing the burr set and tighten the knurled thumb nut by turning clockwise till you feel a resistance (do not overtighten or it hurt the burr set).
The next and the last step is the calibration, kindly read the post of How to Calibrate 1Zpresso Grinders? from our blog.
