Great grinder!! Underestimated how difficult it could be to grind the beans. My wife has a difficult time, but I can get it done in about 25 seconds.
Pros are that this is a life long tool that is easy to maintain.
Cons are you work for it.
We made the switch because our electric grinder died and there’s no path to repair.

Great grinder. It’s actually my second one. This one is for my office
Very few things today are made as well as the K-Ultra grinder. It has a substantial feel in the hand and performs beautifully. The grip is perfect for me. The handle, which collapses into a position that makes the grinder comfortable on a shelf, is clever and attractive. My only criticism is the magnetic cup. It departs from the grinder body with ease (I’m thinking of a stage of an Apollo space craft) and that is a pleasure when you’re ready to make coffee, but you must use caution in holding the grinder by the cup area in order not to cause the top to dislodge. Since I have no experience with a screw-on cup my criticism may be misguided. I use a pour over dripper and a moka pot to make coffee and espresso, respectively. I’ve found that with some practice I can achieve the grinds that fit those two methods perfectly. It seems possible to grind courser than the no. 9 setting (100 clicks)–it rotates past 9 to about 6–but I haven’t ventured grinding at those outer settings. The grind is very uniform, as I’ve found with the moka pot. On 7, barely any fines pass through the metal filter: the boiler and the basket are clean and the espresso is not gritty, but that’s just my preference. My pour overs draw down nicely about a 7.5. I still have a lot of experimenting to do. It seems to me that you can grind very fine with this grinder, too. It’s a versatile grinder. I’m very happy with it.

I’ve only had this for a few weeks but I really like it so far. It took be a little bit to understand the calibration (I made the thumb nut way too tight) but once I figured that out I was good to go. Very consistent grind and the user experience and feel are both really, really nice. I’m excited to continue to use this and see what it can do for my pour over experience
